A small firm in Wokingham, by design.
Tanners Wealth was founded by Edmund Bailey — a Chartered Financial Planner — and opens its doors in 2026 to do financial planning the way clients actually want it. With time. With patience. And with proper conversation.

Edmund Bailey, Chartered Financial Planner
The planner who built Tanners Wealth, and who sets the standard for how every client is looked after.
Edmund has spent nearly two decades in UK financial services. He began his career at Close Brothers Asset Management in 2007, moved to Transact as a Client Service Manager, then spent over seven years as a paraplanner and then Chartered Financial Adviser at ICB Financial Services / Verlingue Wealth Management. He joined Featherstone Partners as a Chartered Financial Planner in 2022, advising families on retirement, investments and estate planning.
He launched Tanners Wealth in 2026 to build the firm he felt was missing. Deliberately small, no initial fees, and time built in for proper conversations with a handful of clients.
Geoffrey Bailey, Non-Executive Director
Four decades at Lloyds Bank — the last as Investments Director of Lloyds TSB Private Banking.
Geoffrey joined Lloyds Bank in 1964 and built a 38-year career in the bank's Trust and Investment divisions. He qualified with the Chartered Institute of Bankers as a Trustee, served as an Investment Analyst covering chemicals, pharmaceuticals and US / Japanese technology sectors, and was a Member of the Securities Institute.
In 1987 he was tasked with restructuring the bank's investment management function. He designed and built a new specialist investment department from the ground up, was promoted to Chief Manager, and on the formation of Lloyds TSB Private Banking was made a company director and Investments Director — with board responsibility for £10 billion of client assets and a department of 123 people.
He retired in 2002 and now sits as a Non-Executive Director of Tanners Wealth, bringing his experience of institutional investment management and private banking to bear on a deliberately small firm.
Small on purpose. And kept that way.
A small core team, backed by trusted specialists in compliance, research and administration. Small where it counts — never limited.
Edmund writes every advice report himself. Sense Network, our compliance provider, reviews our advice and gives feedback; research and administration are supported by trusted specialist partners.
The commitments behind the advice.
A few things we hold to — quietly, in every plan and every conversation.
- 01Independent adviceWe aren’t tied to any provider, so what we recommend is what we believe is right for you.
- 02No initial feesYour capital is put to work from day one. The first time you pay us anything, your money is already invested.
- 03A fee that’s cappedOur ongoing fee stops at £12,000 a year, so a larger portfolio never quietly subsidises a smaller one.
- 04A planner who knows youOne named planner, personally responsible for your plan — not a call centre, and never a junior associate “managing” your relationship.
- 05Cashflow modelling at the coreNot a single forecast but an evolving picture: scenarios tested, variables explored, and the plan revisited as life and markets change.
- 06Clear about fitIf your needs sit outside what we do well, we’ll tell you early — and gladly point you towards someone better placed to help.
